A German-English model for controlled deployment
Aleph Alpha made Kolibri available on October 3, 2026. The company's October 5 announcement explicitly identifies that earlier availability day, and contemporary coverage corroborates it. The model supports German and English and was designed for applications where customers control deployment infrastructure. [1][3]
Kolibri has about 78 billion total parameters and 3.46 billion active per token. Published weights and configuration files are available under Apache 2.0. Its card distinguishes the maximum supported context from a smaller recommended serving context, so the largest number is not a promise of equal efficiency at every length. [2]
