A coding agent inside the IDE
JetBrains introduced Junie on January 23, 2025. The agent could use project context and IDE tools to plan work and produce reviewable changes. The initial offer was early access through a waitlist, focused on IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate and PyCharm on macOS and Linux. [1]
