A workflow around the model
CodiumAI, later renamed Qodo, introduced AlphaCodium in a January 17, 2024 company announcement. It described a test-based process using problem reflection, generated tests and iterative code refinement, and identified an accompanying public implementation. The work used existing language models rather than releasing a new foundation model. [1]
The first paper version was submitted to arXiv on January 16. That submission timestamp is separate from the dated company introduction and does not establish the first moment of public code access. The public repository makes the implementation inspectable, while benchmark results remain the authors' evaluation. [2][3]
