AI for testing and quality engineering
Tricentis supplies software testing and quality-engineering tools. Its AI Workspace applies agents to testing work, combining context, automation and collaboration around the quality of software changes. This places the company on the verification and delivery side of AI-assisted development, where generated code still needs test coverage and investigation of failures. [1]
On July 30, 2026, Tricentis announced that it had acquired Tabnine. The release highlighted Tabnine's Enterprise Context Engine, connecting repository code, documentation, tickets and dependencies to agent-assisted testing. A later company release in Japan corroborates the transaction, but its August 6 publication date is not the acquisition announcement date. [2][3]
The acquired capability supplies context about the system under test; Tricentis supplies the testing and quality-engineering platform around it. That is a concrete connection between coding tools and software verification. The announcement establishes the transaction and proposed product combination, rather than independent evidence for the vendors' claims about quality gains. [2][1]
