Comparative evidence for governments

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1961. It produces data, policy analysis and international standards across economic and social subjects. Its AI work makes national approaches easier to compare and supports international discussion about how AI is developed and used. [1]

A usable policy resource

The OECD.AI Policy Observatory launched in February 2020 as an online resource combining AI trends, national initiatives and guidance. A joint official report identifies the policy-and-initiatives database as jointly developed with the European Commission, a specific contribution to the resource rather than ownership of the OECD. [2][4]

The observatory provides evidence and implementation material around the OECD’s AI Principles. Its publication is a portal milestone, distinct from a government enacting or enforcing an AI law. [3][2][4]
