An employee's request as the entry point
Moveworks builds conversational software for employees to find information and get work done across company systems. Its assistant combines enterprise search with an agentic reasoning layer, so a request can lead to a relevant answer or an action in an operational tool. The company traces that work to understanding the language people use when asking for help at work. [1]
This positions Moveworks at the employee-facing end of enterprise automation. A person can describe the outcome they need while the assistant finds the relevant information and systems. The integrations and workflow configuration determine which actions it can actually perform. [1][2]
An agreement followed by a closing
ServiceNow signed an agreement to acquire Moveworks in March 2025. The announcement described a combination of Moveworks' assistant and search with ServiceNow's workflow platform. At that point, the acquisition and its proposed integration were still subject to closing. [2]
Both companies reported completion on December 15, 2025. That later evidence supports ServiceNow as Moveworks' parent. It establishes the ownership change, while the product work described around it remains a separate question: acquiring an assistant does not by itself show that every proposed cross-platform experience was already available.
