Freepik under a new name
Magnific is the creative platform previously known as Freepik. The company announced the change on April 28, 2026, bringing its stock library and AI image, video, audio and other creative tools under the Magnific brand. Its rebrand FAQ explicitly identifies the same team and legal entity, so the historical Freepik name belongs to this one company record. [1][2]
This places the company in two parts of the AI ecosystem: creative software used to produce media, and model development. The current name should not obscure the name attached to its earlier research and releases. [1][3]
F Lite was released as Freepik
On April 29, 2025, Freepik and fal released F Lite. The creators described training on about 80 million licensed images from Freepik's internal collection. That is their account of the dataset; the sources do not constitute an independent legal audit. [4][5]
The downloadable 10-billion-parameter model has CreativeML Open RAIL-M terms. Public weights let developers run and adapt the model, subject to that license. Contemporary reporting and the original model card retain Freepik's historical name, while the migrated launch blog now uses Magnific. [3][5]
