Models for finding and ordering evidence
Jina AI develops embeddings that represent content for search and rerankers that reorder candidate results. Elastic’s acquisition announcement also described multilingual, multimodal and document-processing capabilities. These models contribute to the retrieval layer that supplies context to a generative system. [1]
A company acquisition with a separate announcement date
Elastic’s filing records acquisition of 100% of Conic AI Technology Limited and its subsidiaries, collectively Jina AI, on October 7, 2025. The public completion announcement followed on October 9. The record therefore has evidence of completed ownership, rather than merely a partnership or team affiliation. [2][1]
Model access has specific terms
The current jina-embeddings-v4 card describes text, image and visual-document retrieval. Its license section corrects an initial CC-BY-NC label to the Qwen Research License because it derives from Qwen2.5-VL-3B. Model weights being downloadable does not make every model in the company’s catalog Apache licensed. [3]
