Serving generative media
fal supplies inference infrastructure for generative image, video, audio and 3D workloads. Developers can call hosted model endpoints or deploy their own model, pipeline or container on serverless GPUs. The platform handles request queues, execution and scaling, connecting media-generation models to applications that need to run them. [1]
Its role includes both distributing models from other developers and supporting custom deployments. Calling a hosted endpoint uses a prepared service; deploying a custom pipeline gives the application developer control over the code being served. The platform's catalog describes availability and operating options, rather than independent evidence of model quality. [1]
Co-developing a released model
fal also helped create F Lite with Freepik on April 29, 2025. The initial release was a 10-billion-parameter diffusion image model, with downloadable weights under CreativeML Open RAIL-M. This was a development contribution, beyond merely hosting another company's model. [2][3]
