Amplitude supplies product analytics and experimentation tools. Its May 2026 Statsig announcement said it would maintain and develop the Statsig platform across cloud and warehouse deployments, taking its brand and customers while working with the original team at OpenAI. [1]
The exact assets and technology rights
The subsequent filing describes a May 1 agreement with Statsig, LLC: customer relationships, contracts, order backlog, trade name and a perpetual nonexclusive license to specified proprietary technology. Amplitude accounted for an asset acquisition. This does not establish a whole-company purchase, exclusive ownership of all Statsig technology or a transfer of the original team. [2]
Operation after the announcement
In June, Amplitude’s product lead described its team maintaining Statsig and supporting customers since May 5, with the original team at OpenAI helping the transition. The same account presented future AI evaluations and tracing as coming work, so those plans are not treated as shipped features on the announcement day. [3]
