A shared home for pages and files

OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Space at DevDay as a place where teammates, ChatGPT and a user’s dot build on shared knowledge. A space gathers a project’s pages, files and related work, and ChatGPT can keep it organized according to instructions the team provides. For accounts with access, Space replaces the earlier Library; ChatGPT Projects remain separate. [1][3][4]

Pages launched alongside it as a new document type built for people and agents to work on together. A page can be started from a conversation, a template or a blank document, and can hold text, charts, images and interactive content. Collaborators edit the same page in real time and leave comments, each working with their own ChatGPT. [1][3]

Pages that agents keep current

A page can be given standing instructions: what to update, which connected sources to use, and how often to check, set up as a recurring automation. OpenAI says dots, its always-on agents launched the same day, work natively across files in Space, and can be asked from ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams to keep a page up to date. [4][1]

OpenAI states that sharing a page does not share the owner’s private chats or memory, but anything written onto the page, including details ChatGPT drew from memory, is visible to everyone with access. Files uploaded into a page follow the page’s permissions, and OpenAI says it does not train on Business or Enterprise data by default. [4][3]

What was available on launch day

Space and Pages were available to Pro, Business and Enterprise plans in the ChatGPT desktop app and on the web. On mobile, people could find, read and share pages but not create or edit them. In managed workspaces, sharing follows the organization’s settings, and Enterprise sharing launched as an opt-in preview. [1][3][4]

Several pieces were announced rather than shipped. Collaborative slides, editable at once by teammates and agents and exportable to PowerPoint or Google Slides, were promised within weeks; TechCrunch updated its launch story to clarify that slides were not yet available. Collaborative spreadsheets and mobile editing were listed as coming soon. A Meetings plugin that saves meeting summaries into Space launched in beta on the macOS desktop app for Pro and Business users. [1][4][2]

An office suite inside the chatbot

Atlas interpretation: TechCrunch read Space, Pages and the promised slides as OpenAI building its own office suite, a move into Microsoft’s core workplace software even though Microsoft has been OpenAI’s close partner. On launch day the shipped part was the document and file layer; the presentation and spreadsheet pieces that would complete that comparison were still announcements. [2][1]
