A banker's version of ChatGPT Work
ChatGPT for Financial Services is a tailored version of ChatGPT Work running on GPT-6 Astra, shaped by a design partnership with Morgan Stanley and Evercore and aimed first at investment banking and equity research. It includes datasets from Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News and Crunchbase that OpenAI indexes and hosts itself, so teams need no separate contracts or connectors, and citations trace figures back to specific tables and passages. [1]
OpenAI says it is working with S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva and Moody's so that firms' existing data subscriptions will be recognized through a ChatGPT sign-in. The product also lists more than 50 connectors, including FactSet and Box, lets administrators publish Excel, Word and PowerPoint templates, and builds on ChatGPT Enterprise's sign-on and access controls, with separate workspaces available as information barriers. It is available to eligible financial institutions through OpenAI's sales team, and the announcement gives no price. [1]
Aimed at the analyst's work
At the launch briefing, OpenAI's Nick Turley said the company was effectively teaching ChatGPT to research like an analyst and back up its conclusions like one. CNBC reported that he declined to name banks that had signed on, that OpenAI plans tailored versions for a number of other sectors, and that Anthropic had announced a Claude for Financial Services product the year before. [2]
Atlas interpretation: The distinctive part is the data rather than the model. By licensing and hosting financial datasets itself, OpenAI supplies the research environment as well as the model. Two limits sit on the page: the benchmark figures in the announcement measure GPT-6 Astra, not this product, and the integrations with the large data vendors were described as work in progress.
