Replit takes Agent out of early access

Two stages of AI-assisted development

On December 10, 2024, Replit said Agent was leaving early access and introduced a new Assistant. Agent focused on building an application from an initial request, including environment setup, while Assistant was intended to help refine work in an existing project. [1]

The release changed product access and divided the workflow into application creation and subsequent iteration. It was not Agent's first preview, and the announcement's later update date should not be mistaken for when the early-access restriction was removed. [1]
