A generated place that persists
World Labs develops spatial-intelligence models and products. Its first product, Marble, creates persistent 3D environments from inputs including images, video, text and layouts. The company was founded by Fei-Fei Li, Justin Johnson, Ben Mildenhall and Christoph Lassner, bringing computer-vision and graphics research into a product for creating places. [1]
A persistent scene is a different output from a single rendered frame. It lets a user return to a place and inspect it from another position, making spatial consistency part of the product rather than relying only on a clip that looks coherent from one camera view. World Labs identifies that continuing spatial representation as a central aim. [1]
Atlas as a preview of broader spatial modeling
The September 2026 Atlas announcement described a model using text, images, video and 3D in shared spatial context. It supported camera paths expressed through geometry and reconstruction from input views, allowing the requested viewpoint to become an explicit model input. [2]
The announcement offered an early-access request form and said Atlas would power future Marble versions. Those statements establish a preview and intended product integration, rather than broad public access or completed deployment of every demonstrated capability. Its physical-world simulation claims also remain the provider's account of the model. [2]
