Models inside an internet company
Tencent combines consumer internet services with enterprise cloud infrastructure. Its AI work includes developing the Hunyuan family rather than only distributing models from other companies. The company traces its founding to 1998 and is headquartered in Shenzhen. [1][2]
Enterprise access came before public weights
At the September 2023 Hunyuan debut, Tencent made the model available for enterprise testing through Tencent Cloud APIs in China. That launch established hosted access, not a public release of model weights. [2]
Check the individual release
The later Hunyuan-Large repository provides pretrained and instruction-tuned checkpoints, deployment code and model-specific licensing. A developer can inspect and deploy those artifacts independently of the original cloud endpoint. Hunyuan is a model family within Tencent, so availability and reuse conditions need to be checked for the particular checkpoint. [3]
