A company behind an open agent platform

OpenHands builds a coding-agent platform and commercial services around it. The company originally introduced itself as All Hands AI in July 2024 while working on OpenDevin. Its current site presents the business as OpenHands, while the privacy policy still identifies All Hands AI as the service provider. This record follows that company continuity without asserting a legal corporate-name change. [1][3][2]

The company co-developed Devstral with Mistral AI. Both organizations identify the collaboration, and the model was released under Apache 2.0 for software-engineering agent tasks. OpenHands supplied an agent environment in which the model could work on repository issues, rather than merely appearing as a later compatible client. [4][5]

The company's Devstral post is dated May 20, 2025, while Mistral's announcement says May 21. The existing Atlas event retains its May 21 date while that discrepancy is researched separately. The model's Apache 2.0 license should also be kept distinct from the terms of hosted and enterprise services built around the agent platform. [4][5][2]
