Networking around AI workloads
Nokia supplies connectivity technology across mobile and network infrastructure. Its announced NVIDIA collaboration included adapting 5G and 6G radio-access software and exploring the use of Nokia switching and optical technology in AI infrastructure. AI-RAN and data-center interconnection are different parts of that work. [1][2]
An investment with a separate completion record
The October 2025 NVIDIA agreement set out a billion-dollar directed share issue. Nokia’s January 2026 financial report subsequently confirmed completion on November 13, 2025, with NVIDIA holding approximately 2.90 percent. That minority stake does not make Nokia an NVIDIA subsidiary. [1][2]
Joint development does not imply finished deployment
The original announcement separated work on RAN software from opportunities the companies were still exploring in data-center networking. Its stated roadmap should not be read as proof that every future network product or field deployment was already complete on announcement day. [1]
