Moderna uses AI in neoantigen selection and operational workflows. Its individualized intismeran therapy with Merck remains investigational in the cited trial report.

An mRNA platform with computational tools

Moderna dates its founding to 2010 and builds medicines using messenger RNA. Its January 2026 shareholder letter describes AI and digital tools in trial design, data analysis, forecasting and production. That is broader than a single model or one computational step in one therapy. [1][3]

Selecting targets for an individualized therapy

Moderna’s account of its cancer program describes AI algorithms using tumor and blood sequencing data to predict up to 34 neoantigens for an individualized mRNA therapy. It also describes Maestro, a digital system coordinating patient-specific manufacturing activities. Those are design and operating processes, with different roles from clinical testing. [2]

Interpreting the phase 3 announcement

The INTerpath-001 topline report evaluated investigational intismeran with pembrolizumab against pembrolizumab alone in resected melanoma. The sponsors reported specified recurrence and metastasis endpoints. This evidence concerns the combination regimen in that study, rather than demonstrating the independent effect of the AI selection system or granting marketing approval. [4]
