A platform and a drug-development business

Insilico Medicine applies AI to disease modeling, target identification and molecule design, and also develops therapeutic candidates. A November 2025 company announcement dates its founding to 2014. The Pharma.AI platform and the clinical programs are related parts of its work, with different evidence requirements. [3][1]

A randomized study with a defined scale

The June 2025 rentosertib paper reported a 71-patient, 12-week placebo-controlled phase 2a trial in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The primary endpoint concerned treatment-emergent adverse events; lung-function measures were secondary. Insilico was the sponsor, with clinical investigators contributing to the multicenter study. [2]

Clinical evidence remains specific to the trial

The publication connects an AI-discovered target and designed molecule to human testing. Its limited duration and sample size do not establish long-term benefit, regulatory approval or the success rate of AI drug discovery as a whole. Larger and longer studies are separate evidence steps. [2]
