Private systems with managed operations

Equinix supplies colocation, network connections and operating services around AI computing systems. Its private-AI offering combines data-center operations with compute, networking, storage and software, allowing organizations to place AI infrastructure near their own data. [2]

On January 24, 2024, Equinix launched its managed NVIDIA DGX service, with immediate availability. Customers could acquire their own DGX systems while Equinix installed and operated the infrastructure in its facilities. The launch also included NVIDIA AI Enterprise software and specialist support. [1][3]

Customer ownership of the computing equipment is an important part of this arrangement. The hosted service and Equinix Fabric connections provide an alternative to operating the entire environment internally, without turning those privately owned systems into Equinix's own GPU inventory. [1][2]
