Robotics inside a delivery marketplace

DoorDash operates a local-commerce marketplace connecting customers, merchants and delivery workers. Founded in 2013, it also develops autonomous delivery technology: DoorDash Labs built Dot in-house, and the company's Autonomous Delivery Platform coordinates different delivery methods with its marketplace. Dot's September 2025 introduction included an early-access program in Tempe and Mesa, Arizona. [1][2]

DoorDash's October 16, 2025 Waymo milestone began with testing, while broader commercial service remained planned. Waymo subsequently announced live delivery from participating Metro Phoenix DashMart locations on December 2. The distinction matters: the initial partnership announcement did not establish that every customer or merchant already had autonomous delivery. [3][4]
