Databases and an application builder
DataStax supplies Astra DB and Hyper-converged Database, with NoSQL and vector capabilities built around Cassandra. Langflow serves another layer: a visual, Python-based tool for composing models, APIs and data sources into AI applications. IBM’s current product account distinguishes the builder from the databases it can connect to. [2]
The company behind Langflow joined
In April 2024, DataStax announced the acquisition of Logspace, the company behind Langflow. The founders described joining DataStax and continuing work on the project; their post also announced a 1.0 alpha. This does not establish a second acquired company legally named Langflow. [4][5]
IBM ownership requires completion evidence
IBM’s February 2025 announcement dates DataStax’s founding to 2010 and describes a planned acquisition with closing conditions. Its later SEC-filed annual report says IBM closed the DataStax deal in 2025. That later evidence, rather than the original intent release alone, supports the current parent relationship. [1][3]
