Energy, facilities and a cloud platform
Crusoe's AI infrastructure business spans energy sourcing, data-center design and construction, and the Crusoe Cloud computing platform. The cloud business serves model builders directly, while the facilities business also delivers infrastructure operated by another cloud provider. [1]
Abilene is a concrete example of the latter role. Crusoe built the Stargate campus's physical infrastructure, while Oracle supplied and operated computing systems for OpenAI workloads. OpenAI's July 22, 2025 account already confirmed early training and inference after initial rack deliveries in June. [2][3]
Crusoe's September 30 account reported the first phase live and described the earlier work. It should not be treated as proof that the first workloads began that September day, nor that every planned building was complete. [2][3]
The October 2025 Series E announcement described an initial closing of an anticipated $1.375 billion round and an expected valuation above $10 billion. That capital supported the broader infrastructure platform; the wording does not establish that the entire anticipated round had already closed. [1]
