Coding tools with a public implementation

Continue developed AI coding tools spanning command-line use and editor extensions. Its terms identify Continue Dev, Inc. as the provider. In the May 2024 Codestral launch, Mistral named Continue as an integration partner, placing the coding model inside an existing developer workflow. That was participation in the release, rather than merely later compatibility with a model API. [3][4]

Continue's current front door says the company was acquired by Cursor. It provides no dated closing notice, so this profile records the completed relationship without inventing an acquisition day. Cursor is the product operated by Anysphere, the parent record used here. [1]

The public repository remains available under Apache 2.0. Its README says the project is no longer actively maintained and is read-only, and documents a final release covering the CLI, VS Code extension and JetBrains plugin. Public source availability therefore survives the business change, but it should not be mistaken for an ongoing independent product roadmap or a maintenance commitment. [2]
