Knowledge and work in the same product family

Atlassian builds collaboration and work-management software including Jira and Confluence. Rovo applies AI to the information and relationships inside those tools and connected applications, combining enterprise search, conversational answers and specialized agents. Its role starts with the context of a team's work rather than a standalone general-purpose model. [1]

Rovo became generally available at Team '24 Europe in October 2024, following an earlier preview. The launch brought the search, chat and agent functions into a product customers could adopt. Separate developer-focused agents discussed at the conference were an early-access program, not all part of Rovo's general-availability claim. [1]

Connecting context to a workflow

Atlassian subsequently expanded Rovo across its cloud subscriptions and product surfaces. Its October 2025 account described connectors for outside information, reusable skills, agent workflows and administrative controls. These additions make an organization's accumulated tasks and documents available to AI-assisted work across more of the places teams operate. [2]

The historical launch and later expansion should remain separate. Subscription inclusion in 2025 does not establish the original 2024 pricing or access, and the company's reported time savings are not independent measurements of every team's results. Its concrete contribution is the combination of work context, retrieval and configurable action in collaboration software. [2]
