Architecture and reusable processor designs
Arm supplies processor intellectual property that other companies incorporate into their chips. Its Neoverse Compute Subsystems combine CPU cores and related infrastructure into validated designs for cloud, high-performance computing and AI systems. Licensing that design is distinct from buying a finished processor. [2]
Expanding into its own silicon
The March 2026 Arm AGI CPU launch added Arm-designed data-center processors to that business. Meta was the lead co-developer, while Supermicro worked with Arm on a liquid-cooled system design. Arm reported early systems available, with broader availability expected later in 2026. [1][3]
An infrastructure role under majority ownership
Arm’s filing identifies SoftBank as its majority shareholder. Its AI contribution spans the CPUs and orchestration infrastructure around accelerators, rather than authorship of every model run on Arm-based hardware. The launch’s performance and economic comparisons are Arm estimates, not guarantees for every workload. [4][1]
