Hardware for learned robot behavior
Apptronik develops the Apollo humanoid platform for physical work. The original 2023 unveiling focused on case and tote handling in logistics and manufacturing. Its modular design allowed a walking robot, a wheeled torso or a stationary configuration, rather than assuming every industrial task needed legs. [1]
The unveiling was a hardware introduction with intended applications. It did not demonstrate that the advertised future uses in homes or healthcare were deployed products. A useful account of Apptronik therefore separates its robot platform from the capabilities still being developed around it. [1]
A data platform for robotics models
In June 2026, Apptronik described Apollo 2 as the working platform in Robot Park facilities and customer data-collection programs. Its account explicitly combines teleoperation and autonomous execution, with collected experience contributing to Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics research. This is a concrete hardware and training-data contribution to model development. [2]
The same release distinguishes Apollo 2's data-collection role from an upcoming Apollo 3 commercial fleet. An active training robot, an autonomous demonstration and a widely deployed commercial product represent different stages of that development process. [2]
