Models and the material needed to study them

Paul Allen founded Ai2 in 2014 as a nonprofit AI research institute. Its work includes language models, scientific discovery, robotics and conservation. Publishing research resources gives other teams ways to inspect and extend systems, alongside the institute's own model development. [1]

The Olmo 3 release organized models and intermediate checkpoints around a model flow spanning training stages. Its November 2025 announcement was later updated with Olmo 3.1 checkpoints, so the original post date should not be used as the release date of every model now described on that page. [2]

Ai2 also released Olmo-core 3 in October 2026, a framework for training mixture-of-experts language models. Its reported trillion-parameter scaling experiment concerns training infrastructure; it is not evidence that Ai2 released trillion-parameter model weights. [3]
