Home robotics with several control modes
1X develops humanoid robots and the learning systems around them. Its NEO product combines conversation, visual context and physical tasks in the home. The company describes a generalist model called Redwood, alongside interfaces for managing tasks and controlling the robot. [3]
Those modes need to be distinguished. The product page explicitly offers scheduled expert assistance for unfamiliar chores and remote piloting through an app or VR equipment. Human-guided task execution can also generate training experience; a robot performing a chore on camera does not by itself establish autonomous operation. [3]
A preorder, with delivery still separate
The October 2025 launch opened NEO preorders and described first US deliveries in 2026. The preorder terms reserve a waitlist position before a later purchase invitation. They do not turn the announcement into evidence that consumer units had shipped or that advertised chores would work without assistance. [1][2]
